Our General Dentistry Services

Exams

At Ora Dental, we recommend our patients receive an exam and cleaning every 6 months. During your exam and cleaning, the doctor will evaluate your oral health, detect any diseases and address any dental concerns. During your appointment, our doctors will perform your cleaning and will remove all plaque and tartar that may have built up. We will also review your brushing and flossing techniques and will show you techniques that will improve your oral health.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection.  In order to save the tooth, the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.

Some patients may want to extract the tooth rather than saving it, but in most cases, it’s better to save your tooth. Extracting your tooth may cause more issues down the road and end up becoming more costly. Our root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime, although on occasion, a tooth will have to be retreated due to new infections.

Oral Sedation

Ora Dental offers different types of oral sedation to treat any patients that experience anxiety during dental treatment. Call our office to discuss our Oral Sedation options.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontics is a dental specialty that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gum disease. If your gums are swollen or bleed, these are symptoms that you may have periodontal disease. While Periodontal disease is common, it is recommended that you see a dentist regularly to receive treatment. It can be treated over a period of time with in-depth and frequent dental cleanings.

It is important to address this disease as Periodontal disease is connected with heart disease, strokes, premature births, Diabetes and respiratory disease.

Ora Dental also offers Gum Tissue Recovery – Flapless!

Gum recession is a process in which the tissue that surrounds your teeth pulls away from the tooth. This can cause damage to the supporting bone. We offer gum grafting surgery that is painless, quicker and prevents trauma.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple and painless process. Whitening can remove stains and tooth discoloration. Ora Dental offers different options and products to whiten your teeth.

Invisalign

Invisalign aligners are an alternative method of orthodontics. Invisalign treatment consists of  clear trays worn 22 hours a day that gradually straighten your teeth. The aligners are comfortable, aesthetically pleasing and a great option for teens and adults. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign aligners allow you to remove the trays while eating, drinking, brushing and flossing, making them the most convenient and comfortable way to straighten your teeth.  Find out more about the Invisalign clear aligner system offered in our office by clicking here.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Composite (Tooth-colored) fillings are designed to match the color of your teeth. Fillings are needed when a tooth either has decay or has been fractured. Tooth-colored fillings are also used for cosmetic improvements that are used to change the color, or shape of the tooth.

Dentures & Bridges

While bridges and dentures are similar, they work differently. You may be a better candidate for one over the other. Bridges are meant to bridge the gap of missing teeth in between healthy teeth. Bridges are recommended for patients with fewer missing teeth. Dentures are recommended for patients that have several missing teeth.

Extractions

A dental extraction is also known as removing or pulling a tooth. Our doctors can extract (remove) teeth if they are badly damaged and treatment cannot be done to save the tooth. Our doctors will try to save the tooth, but if needed will extract the tooth.

Ora Dental also offers oral surgery to remove Wisdom teeth!

Sleep Dentistry

Our office offers sleep dentistry to our patients that have high anxiety or dental fear. With our advanced techniques, experienced and trained staff, and state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to offer patients the comfort of sleep dentistry. If you are a candidate for sleep dentistry, you will be given medicine either orally or through an IV that results in sleepiness. The sleepiness will make you calm and relaxed for the entire appointment. For more information regarding sleep dentistry, please call our office at (817) 527-8000.
